The Role
Administer a comprehensive tennis-specific strength and conditioning program for USTA Player Development athletes and manage day-to-day Strength and Conditioning operations in Orlando. This position will work with other performance team members to test, train, and track elite-level tennis players.
- Create a world-class fitness program for USTA Player Development athletes with a strong emphasis on individualized programming.
- Work closely with the Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Athletic Trainers/Physical Therapists, and Heads of Men’s and Women’s Tennis to develop and administer performance enhancement and injury prevention programs and educational materials for elite players and coaches.
- Make frequent contact with elite prospects and coaches to ensure implementation of and adherence to training programs.
- Work extensively with elite high-performance tennis players at USTA Training Centers and at tournaments (nationally and internationally).
- Administer and coordinate USTA testing, training, and tracking protocols for players who train at the USTA Training Centers.
- Along with the Sr. Director, Athletic Development, evaluate and develop a world-class strength and conditioning/athletic training staff, including the Strength and Conditioning Fellowship program.
- Assist the Sr. Director, Athletic Development, in managing the Strength and Conditioning facility in Orlando.
- Work closely with the Coaching Education & Performance team in both the development of educational materials for strength training & conditioning, injury prevention, and assisting in the High-Performance Coaching Program (HPCP) as required.
- Make presentations at appropriate events, including High Performance Coaching Programs, to help educate coaches, players, and parents in the sport sciences.
- Represent the USTA at meetings and conferences, such as NSCA, ITF, USOC, RSPA, PTR, etc.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Sport Science or related area.
- National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
- Extensive knowledge of growth and developmental issues involving players who are pre-puberty, in puberty, and young adults.
- Ability to present/demonstrate exercises in the weight room and on the tennis court.
- Knowledge of elite athletes with a specific understanding of tennis movements/injury patterns.
- 5 + years of full-time experience working with elite-level athletes.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Sport Science or related area.
- CSCS Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) by NSCA
- Position is considered exempt.
- This position is designated as "on-site" and requires the employee to be at the office to complete the required tasks associated with the position.

The expected range for the annual base salary for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. This role is eligible for an Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) bonus up to 5%. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
