Job Description

Job Goal: The position is responsible for instructing and coaching students to develop skills and the ability to excel in the assigned sport. A successful candidate will be able to contribute to the education program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics so that they are successfully competitive.


 


QUALIFICATIONS: 



  1. Valid Professional Georgia Teaching Certificate

  2. Exceptional teaching ability that is documented in references from immediate supervisors

  3. The ability to work successfully with other professionals. Proven organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills.

  4. Prior coaching experience preferred.

  5. Understanding of GHSA rules and regulations governing cheerleading

  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


·         Prompt and regular attendance.


·         Provides and use appropriate teaching strategies for cheerleading.


·         Effectively communicates with parents and the community as appropriate.


·         Performs all duties of the head cheerleading coach.


·         Works cooperatively with the Administration.


·         Performs all other tasks as assigned by the Principal and/or the Superintendent of Schools.


 


Physical Requirements:


Able to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities including:


Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects.


 


Terms of Employment:


       Salary shall be paid consistent on the System’s approved salary schedule.  Length of work year and hours of employment shall be established by the system.
