About the job 

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager the Operations Team Lead Lead will work as a technical coordinator for operations and engineering to optimize plant operations while enabling safe and efficient production of quality products. 

The Morris site manufactures Amine Surfactants for use in agricultural, mining, home and personal care, coatings lubes and fuels, and oilfield applications.  The fatty amines and derivatives produced at the Morris site are specially formulated for our customers needs to provide value in neutralization, emulsification, wetting and other surface active properties.  The Operations Team Lead is responsible for her/his manufacturing units at the site.



In your future role as Operations Team Lead you will

  • Drive process improvements to optimize equipment, materials, and resources, maximizing efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving, diagnosing issues, documenting findings, and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
  •  Ensure regulatory and safety compliance, including adherence to plant operating permits and participation in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
  • Provide technical leadership and team development, including training, guidance, and building trust through strong expertise and decision-making.
  • Manage and respond to operational issues and emergencies, acting as the technical expert during unplanned events and ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Oversee procedures and continuous improvement systems, including SOP management, document control, and managing change through MOC processes.


We believe you bring

  • B.S. degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5–7 years of production experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Supervisory experience managing a team of operators
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and leadership with a high sense of ownership and accountability
  • Knowledge of plant processes, equipment, and safety policies/procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment


Great if you have

  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Union facility experience
  • Chemical background
