Primary Purpose:
Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills among assigned teachers. Evaluate the performance of assigned classroom teachers. Serves as an instructional partner as necessary to facilitate improvement in elementary curriculum and instructional practices.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree
Master's degree (preferred)
Valid Texas administrator certificate (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessments
Knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of elementary students
Knowledge of varied instructional strategies for at-risk students
Ability to interpret data, evaluate programs and teacher effectiveness
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and students
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in the use of technology
Experience:
5 years' experience as a certified teacher (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management
1. Frequently and regularly observe classroom instruction and make reports to cmpus principal adn assistant superindent of academics.
2. Provide teacher feedback, training, and mentoring.
3. Model instructional strategies for teachers as needed.
4. Work with teachers and administrators to provide quality tutorials, research-based small-group instruction, and research-based individual instruction for identified students.
5. Interpret data and develop action plans to increase student achievement and support the testing environment.
6. Work with instructional staff and administrators to develop benchmark assessments.
7. Provide curriculum resources and materials to support student achievement.
8. Work with the assistant superintendent of academics and other instructional facilitators to coordinate vertical alignment, curriculum implementation, data analysis, and testing activities.
9. Schedule and provide staff development for elementary teachers.
10. Facilitate departmental meetings and planning sessions for core areas.
11,. Address academic concerns of parents in core areas.
12. Assist secondary teachers and administrators with course offerings and sequencing.

13. Participate in curriculum training and develop a deep understanding of TEKS.
14. Participate in leadership team meetings
15. Prepare and deliver presentations to various groups.
16. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
17. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
18. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Asst. Superintendent of Academics.
