Structural Engineer



Founded in 1892, by Frank Osborn who authored the popular engineering handbook Osborn’s Tables of Moments of Inertia and Squares of Radii of Gyration, which featured working strengths of steel members, timber beams and columns, and standard loads, unit stresses and constants for a variety of structures. Osborn Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer with 0 – 4 Years’ experience for our office locations who will report to the Manager of Structural Engineering. The ideal candidate would have working knowledge of Revit and Structural design in the Consulting Engineering environment.



Position Responsibilities




  • Assist Project and Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.

  • Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.

  • Preparation of structural integrity and assessment reports.

  • Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.

  • Assist in preparation of design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.

  • Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.

  • Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.



Job Requirements/Qualifications




  • 0 – 4 Years of experience in Structural Design in Consulting Engineering.

  • Excellent Organizational and Communication skills.

  • Proactive and Collaborative team member.

  • Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.

  • Working knowledge of Revit.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering Preferred.

  • EI License Preferred.
