Job Description:

Job Summary

An Audiologist evaluates hearing loss and balance/vestibular disorders via the administration of a clinical test battery. Audiologists determine the type as well as the degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension, speech and communication disorders. Patients are referred for medical and educational services as indicated. Audiologists plan and implement prevention, habilitation, or rehabilitation services including hearing aid selection, fitting, counseling and orientation. Assistive listening devices are recommended by Audiologists according to the patients' needs or nature of impairment.

Job Requirements

Education

• Required: Master's Degree or Doctorate – Au.D. From accredited program

Experience

• Required: None

Skills

• Tolerance for working with multiple numbers of people required.
• Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required.
• Self motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Required: MO License
• Required: Registered Audiologist
• Required: Certified Audiologist
• Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hireEducation:
▪ Required: Master's Degree in Audiology
▪ Preferred: Doctorate in Audiology
Experience:
▪ Preferred: At least one year experience in a medical setting
Skills:
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
▪ Strong analytical/problem solving skill
▪ Ability to work with all age levels, infant through geriatric and modifies assessment accordingly
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
▪ Required: CCC-A in audiology
▪ State license in Missouri for audiology
