Purchasing / Procurement Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Purchasing/Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, vendor development, and procurement activities supporting our manufacturing operations. This role requires strong negotiation abilities, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong sense of urgency in driving supplier performance and material availability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing and vendor development efforts to support manufacturing operations.
- Work with domestic and international suppliers to negotiate contracts, improve quality, and enhance service levels.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Sales to support projects and business goals.
- Identify new suppliers and materials; manage supplier qualification and selection processes.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and maintain cost-effective supplier relationships.
- Develop supplier contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and requirements.
- Conduct supplier visits as needed (domestic and international travel may be required).
- Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and service issues promptly.
- Support quoting efforts for new business and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop and maintain procurement procedures and policies.
- Oversee supplier approval and development processes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years purchasing experience; manufacturing experience required.
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and domestic/international purchasing regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with mechanical components in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Associate�s degree required, bachelor�s degree in business or related field preferred.
