About the Department

An employee in this class is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all customers and coworkers. Responsibilities include answering the phone, assisting customers, collecting admission and concession sales, completing and reconciling daily attendance and revenue reports, preparing daily deposits, assisting pool staff with daily cleaning tasks, and communicating any known issues or problems to the Pool Manager. Employment is in a seasonal capacity and only during the timer period of public utilization of the swimming pools, which is determined by the Board of Commissioners. Work requires independence and self-initiative in activities. Precedent setting situations are referred to higher level supervisors. Sound judgment is required in performing tasks. Work is subject to the final OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens. Work is performed under the supervision of the Pool Manager and is evaluated through observation, discussion, feedback from customers and personnel in the field, adherence to Town and departmental policies and procedures, compliance with other established standards for the position, quality and effectiveness of work completed, ongoing and timely feedback, and scheduled performance evaluations.

Position Duties

  • Provides exceptional internal and external customer service to customers and pool staff.
  • Collects revenues and completes daily reports as instructed; prepares daily deposit.
  • Assists pool staff with cleaning tasks associated with opening and closing pool daily.
  • Communicates any known issues and problems to the Pool Manager.
  • Works scheduled shifts, which may include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Town’s personnel policies and procedures related to part-time personnel.
  • Ability to research and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and co-workers.

Other Qualifications

Required Education and Experience Qualifications

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Must pass basic mathematics skill assessment test.
  • Must have some customer service experience.
