Description

Corporate Field Appraisers verify and accurately appraise the cost of repairs on automobiles and heavy/specialty equipment, so that our clients can determine a fair amount for settlement.  An appraiser reviews each assignment by speaking with the owner or representative, researching records, and inspecting any involved property, to the satisfaction and approval of client service level agreements and company standards /best practices.

Requirements

•    Contact Alacrity Solutions clients to complete inspections/appraisals within our given time frame.
•    Travel varying distances to physically inspect heavy equipment, and auto appraisals.
•    Communicate with customer and client on current and next steps. 
•    Handle assignments from beginning to conclusion.  Make decisions within delegated authority as outlined in client policies and procedures. Adhere to high standards of professional conduct consistent with the delivery of superior service.
•    Recommend Special Reserves where necessary, in accordance with Client Reserving Guidelines.  
•    Maintain current knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.

 

Competencies

•    Electronic estimating experience using Mitchell, AdjustRite, and CCC.
•    Excellent organization, attention to detail and adaptability.
•    The ability to self-organize and manage the day. 
•    Has a working knowledge of Department of Insurance and State Regulations.
•    Experience and Knowledge of Auto Repair Processes and Estimating.
•    Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills.
•    Attention to Detail and Accuracy.
•    Ability to Work Independently and with a Team.
•    Proficiency in Computer Software Used in Automotive Repair Estimating.
•    Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
•    Ability to Read and Interpret Insurance Policies and Appraisal Documents.
•    Ability to Provide Quality Customer Service and Solutions.
•    Ability to Meet Departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
•    Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.  

 

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Normal office or field claims environment.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle for up to 8 hours daily, repeatedly entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Must be able to make physical inspections of property loss sites.  
  • Must be able to climb ladders, balance at various heights, stoop, bend and/or crawl to inspect vehicles and structures.  
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Available to work catastrophic loss events.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and to travel with possible overnight requirements a plus.

•    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Travel Required
•     Ability to travel 100% of time. 

Required Education and Experience

•   State licensing where required.
•    Adjusters license - if applicable to location.
•    3+ years field claims experience including, insurance experience, or equivalent in Multi-vendor estimating.
•    1+ year, strong customer service and conflict resolution competency.
•    1+ year, in being able to successfully perform work independently (self-motivated and organized).


Preferred Education and Experience

•    AdjustRite experience preferred.
•    Mitchell experience preferred.
•    CCC experience preferred.
•    I-Car platinum certification preferred.
•    High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

Additional eligibility requirements

Must maintain and hold sole responsibility for any required state licensure including renewals and all other requirements prior to expiration.
