    POSITION TITLE:  Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for Infant Toddler Team
    EMPLOYMENT STATUS:  Full-time (this position requires additional summer hours to maintain caseloads)
    FLSA status:  Exempt
     
    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    1. Early Childhood Special Education or Early Childhood Unified license issued by the State of Kansas
    2. Master's degree preferred
    3. Experience with young children and families is preferred
    4. Valid Kansas driver's license
    5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board of education may find appropriate and acceptable

     
    REPORTS TO:  Building Principal
     
    JOB GOAL:  To deliver ongoing home and community-based intervention utilizing a coaching model of caregiver support to integrate developmental activities into the child's daily routines.
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Conduct intake and screening visits (to determine eligibility for services) at the family's home, childcare or other natural setting.
    2. Work as a transdisciplinary team member to collaboratively serve eligible infants and toddlers.
    3. Participate in team evaluations to determine the eligibility of referred children, as well as, participate in team assessment to determine the functional developmental strengths/challenges of eligible children.
    4. Work together with families and other team members to develop appropriate individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) based upon family-identified priorities.
    5. Provide Family Service coordination including identifying, mobilizing, and coordinating community resources and services to enable the family to receive the maximum benefits from early intervention services.
    6. Collaborate with other community resources for assigned families.
    7. Complete appropriate documentation for accountability, compliance, billing, data entry and communication with other providers according to state, federal and local guidelines.
    8. Monitor parent-child progress in terms of outcomes.
    9. Performs other duties as assigned.

     
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Salary and work year to be established by the board of education
     
    EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
