Job Description

Job Summary 

  

To assist the Director with the coordination of the staff and daily operations to ensure the Interventional Pain Center operates efficiently and effectively.  This position is considered a working manager who possess a "can do approach" in putting the patients, physicians, and others first.

Minimum Requirements 

  

Preferred 3-5 years supervisory experience; hospital clinical management preferred.  Pain Clinic experience a plus.  Candidate must have experience with electronic medical records.  Graduate from an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN) and experience with multidisciplinary office and billing/coding knowledge.  Must hold a license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana.

Essential Functions 

 

 

  1. Oversight of department needs to include responsibility and accountability for the following:
    1. Ensures proper orientation and ongoing training of clinic staff.  Provides coaching and counseling when appropriate, consults with Executive Director and HR before disciplinary action.
    2. Responsible for routine and yearly staff evaluations.
    3. Continually evaluates the safety of the clinic for patients, staff and providers.
    4. Ensures policies and procedures meet regulatory and best practice standards.  Makes certain all policies and procedures are implemented, updated and consistently followed. 
    5. Serves as an advocate for staff and patients, including complaint follow-up within 24 hrs.  Demonstrates, respect, courtesy and empathy in all interactions.
    6. Regularly reviews clinic operations to ensure efficiency.  This includes but is not limited to staffing, workflow processes, supply usage, billing and charge capture process.
    7. Creating and working within an operational and capital budget in conjunction with Director.
    8. Provides effective communication on a regular basis to staff, providers and Director.
    9. Acts as a role model and when necessary, assists in staffing the clinic.
    10. Works with Quality and other departments to meet quality standards set by the organization, ACO and payers.
    11. Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding the electronic medical record.
    12. Performs all other duties as assigned

Working Conditions 

  

Works in a clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated environment but may encounter hazardous conditions due to direct exposure to patients and equipment. Responsible for management support to include holidays and weekends, as needed. Weekend, holiday and off shift hours are not a routine expectation of the role.
