Job Summary

Our Lady of the Assumption School is a Catholic Elementary School serving students in Preschool and TK through Grade 8. OLA provides a faith-based, quality education developing the whole child. In partnership with the family and parish community, we commit to providing an education based on Catholic values and academic excellence in a caring and safe atmosphere.
Role Purpose
The Preschool Teacher at OLA is responsible for fostering a classroom environment that reflects our Catholic mission. Beyond academic instruction, you will be a spiritual and social role model, helping our youngest learners begin their journey in faith and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Faith Leadership: Integrate Catholic values and simple prayer into the daily routine, helping children understand God’s love in a caring environment.
Whole-Child Development: Create and implement lesson plans that balance spiritual, social, emotional, and academic growth.
Academic Excellence: Use age-appropriate methods to introduce foundational literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring students are prepared for Transitional Kindergarten and beyond.
Community Partnership: Maintain open, professional, and supportive communication with families, reflecting the school’s commitment to the family-parish partnership.
Safety & Care: Maintain a safe, clean, and "caring atmosphere" where every child feels secure and valued.
Classroom Management: Establish positive behavior expectations and help children resolve conflicts with empathy and respect.

A commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
Valid state certification or CDA credential; minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units
Previous experience in a preschool or early childhood setting
Ability to engage actively with children, including sitting on the floor and lifting up to 35 lbs.
CPR Certification (Preferred)
