Role: Use knowledge of credit union products and services to assess members’ needs and assist with their financial transactions while minimizing risk related to negotiable instruments, documents of identification, transaction authority and funds availability. Thoroughly analyze information presented in Symitar while adhering to all federal regulations and teller operations policies, including transaction limits for both cash and checks.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells corporate checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed and maintains member records.
- Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
- Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input, and answering the telephone.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
- Education: A high school education or GED.
- Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Other Skills: Punctual, mentally alert, professional in appearance and manner. Good listening skills, ability to greet the public and communicate in a friendly and tactful manner.
