Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team and support Production, Quality, and Continuous Improvement efforts. In this critical role, you will inspect, check, test, and sample materials and products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with established quality standards. This is a hands-on position that requires technical expertise, precision, and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Job Details

  • Position Type: Hourly, Full Time

  • Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 3:30pm - 12:00am

  • Pay Range:

    • $18.00 - $22.00/hour for Mon - Fri shifts

    • Plus, $2.00/hour shift premium for night shifts

  • Work Location: Savanna and Mount Carroll, IL

  • Reports to: Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough testing and inspection of products and services to validate compliance with technical specifications and quality standards

  • Operate and accurately apply precision gauging instruments and inspection tools during quality control processes

  • Ensure all testing and inspection activities adhere to regulatory compliance standards and industry best practices

  • Monitor and maintain inspection equipment, calibrating gauges as needed to ensure accuracy and reliability during testing

  • Procure gauging supplies and equipment as needed

  • Ensuring auto-gauges are functioning properly and completing preventive maintenance (PMs) on auto-gauges

  • Troubleshooting auto-gauge issues, including electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, or data transfer problems

  • Record, organize, and analyze gage data, preparing comprehensive reports for review by the quality control team or management

  • Help train operators on quality standards and procedures.

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interpret and apply detailed work instructions, technical drawings, blueprints, and inspection protocols

  • High proficiency with a variety of gauging instruments and calibration procedures

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive mindset toward quality assurance

  • Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Proficient with computer systems and technical applications

  • Familiarity with metrology principles is a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years of quality inspection or related experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps

  • History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations.
