 Position Summary



The role of the Imaging Tech/Medical Assistant reports to the Clinic Manager. This position works under the direction of the physicians, mid-level providers, nursing team, Practice Transformation Team and Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care within the clinic and assisting with back-office duties.



 



Essential Position Responsibilities




  • Provide radiology services in a safe and efficient manner as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the individual’s limited license

  • Collect vital signs from patient and input data into electronic medical record system

  • Collect specimen via blood draws and non-blood samples for laboratory examination

  • Prepare patient for examinations and procedures including providing education related to service and obtaining consents, as needed

  • Assist physician with in-office procedures, as needed

  • Perform CLIA-Waived laboratory testing, as necessary

  • Arrange and Schedule referrals to other providers/facilities while coordinating with insurance requirements if applicable

  • Coordinate appointment details with patients

  • Maintain medical logs according to policy/procedures established for the clinic

  • Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments

  • Properly clean and sterilize instruments using germicides, sterilizers and/or autoclave




  • Set-up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms




  • Communicate care needs/services with patient and/or their representative

  • Answer phone calls and determine how to assist them

  • Plan and modify care and implement interventions

  • Provide correspondence to patients on quality metric needs and wellness reminders



 



Qualifications




  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required.

  • Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas Limited License in Radiology, ARRT license, or ARRT registry eligible with a temporary Arkansas state licensure, required. Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist, preferred.

  • Experience: Previous experience with a clerical support role in a medical clinic, preferred. Completion of a medical assistant program, preferred.



 



Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will require travel between Washington Regional campuses.
