SpecPro Sustainment & Environmental (SSE) is seeking a Construction Inspectors (Entry, Mid, and Senior Level) to support the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron (35 CES) at Misawa Air Base, Japan. This role is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of construction projects in support of Air Force infrastructure programs.
Responsibilities include quality assurance, site inspections, documentation, safety compliance, and coordination with contractors, engineers, and Government stakeholders to ensure effective and compliant project execution.
This position is contingent upon contract award and may be filled based on Government approval and program timelines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The Construction Inspector is required to provide the following services:
- Perform construction inspections to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Execute quality assurance (QA/QC) activities across all phases of construction
- Monitor contractor performance, schedules, and workmanship quality
- Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and non-compliant work and document findings
- Review submittals, RFIs, and progress reports for accuracy and completeness
- Support project closeout activities including DD1354 and as-built documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and government stakeholders
- Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and supporting documentation
- Provide daily/weekly inspection reports and input to Monthly Status Reports (MSR)
- Assist in resolving construction issues and tracking corrective actions.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection practices and QA/QC procedures
- Familiarity with DoD construction standards (UFC/UFGS) and safety regulations
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to identify risks and recommend corrective actions
- Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
Education and Experience:
Senior Level:
- Master’s degree in engineering or construction management related field
- 10+ years of experience in construction inspection
Mid Level:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or construction management related field
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction inspection
Entry Level:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering or construction management related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction inspection.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform desk work for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer.
- Ability to walk and navigate varied facilities, including construction areas and uneven terrain.
- Fieldwork might require bending, stooping, and kneeling to access and inspect facilities in confined or difficult-to-reach areas.

Work Environment:
- Primarily operates in an outdoor environment where various weather conditions could be encountered, depending on the location and season.

- Worksites might contain high-voltage equipment, exposed wires, and other electrical hazards that will require strict adherence to safety protocols.
