Job Description

Description

A Power Space Lineman is responsible for building and servicing fiber optic cable routes in both underground and overhead power space.

  • Promoting safety consciousness and adherence to OSHA, MAD, utility, federal, state and local safety requirements
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead and underground fiber optic cable within the power space
  • Communicating with project managers to address concerns, jobsite hazards, or changes to scope in a professional manner
  • Setting up proper jobsites for safety, communicating hazards with a daily tailboard, this is the person in charge
  • Responsible for production requirements to satisfy customer schedule in line with project management and scheduling teams

Requirements

  • Strong work tenure as a Class 1/Journeyman Lineman, municipality experience preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Expert knowledge of 1910.269 Standard
  • Excellent in person and electronic communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient knowledge in operation of aerial lifts and underground cable placement practices, fiber blowing
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, to include on-call rotation, days/nights and weekends as needed
