Description
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Food Services Manager, the Food Service Supervisor (FSS) is responsible for ensuring the successful operations of the Lummi Bay Markets food service operations. In carrying out that responsibility, the FSS has the necessary authority to maintain the facilities, supervise store staff, and ensure the business is operated in a manner that will yield the maximum long-term distribution to the Lummi Indian Business Council (LIBC).
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following, and other duties as assigned:
Customer Service
- Ensure efficient and friendly service from deli staff and that all staff are adequately trained by providing product and educational materials
- Investigate and respond to customer requests
Operations
- Working knowledge of food service equipment and ability to perform all functions
- Follow and enforce all training manual contents
- Ensure organized, smoothly run, profitable business
- Ensure food is efficiently and accurately produced
- Ensure inventory is accurately ordered, stored, stocked, displayed, rotated, and counted
- Minimize waste and ensure proper disposal
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and properly serviced
- Ability to operate POS System, register, and SSCS
- Partner with the Mini Mart Manager in all functions of food service operations, sales, and budgets
- Attend trainings, conferences, and meetings as required or mandated
Purchasing and Pricing
- Purchase products according to store guidelines
- Ensure adequate supply while minimizing waste
- Verify invoices are accurately processes
- Ensure accurate pricing of products
Personnel
- Follow and enforce performance standards, including evaluations and corrective actions
- Ensure staffing is according to budgets
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor staff
- Ensure scheduling is in accordance to store needs and that there is coverage at all times
- Ensure employee standards of safety and sanitization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES
- Able to serve all customers with the utmost respect, attitude and conduct themselves in a calm and professional manner at all times
- Able to work with all staff in a respectful and professional manner at all times
- Must be able to exercise good judgment, balance priorities and workload
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all employees including those that work the front line and upper management
- Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality at all times
REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or GED required
- Requires knowledge of food industry, specifically pizza and seafood, to include food prep, service, and menu planning
- Requires excellent cash handling, problem solving, oral and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail and follow up
- Requires fluency in computers, Excel, Word, Outlook and office equipment
- Requires willingness to work 40 hours per week or more as needed
- Requires strong communication skills and the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Requires willingness to take direction and work with multiple managers on simultaneous task
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to bend, kneel, climb, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools and controls
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol test to be eligible for and maintain employment, as required by the LIBC Drug & Alcohol Free Workplace Policy
- Must pass an extensive criminal background check
- Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s license and meet eligibility requirements for insurance
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
