The Senior Director Accreditation & Compliance is accountable for defining the accreditation strategy and quality system framework and governing conformance, audit readiness, and external assessments across all conformity assessment activities globally.

Responsibilities
- Owns and drives UL Solutions’ accreditation strategy for Testing, Inspection and Certification activities.
- Aligns the accreditation portfolio and accrediting body relationships with business needs, service scope, ownership, and streamlined global processes and tools.
- Defines and maintains the accreditation and quality system framework, including clear enterprise requirements and governance.
- Governs compliance, conformance, and accreditation readiness through internal and external audit planning, assessment oversight, and corrective action / CAPA governance, including oversight of the CAR project.
- Provides enterprise interpretation and operationalization of accreditation, conformity assessment body, and related regulatory requirements.
- Acts as the senior UL Solutions interface and business partner to accreditors, regulators, scheme owners, TIC, and operations.
- Does not own operational process execution, but ensures requirements are clearly defined, governed, and assessed for conformance, and identifies systemic deviations requiring correction or escalation. All while focusing on continuous improvement within the team, high quality and cost efficiency in mind (embracing AI to optimize internal processes).
- Able to provide “red flags” / early indicators and needs for improvement as well as conformity assessment business analytics for leadership.
- Enable a future ready ULS TIC scenario, where modeling, simulation and other AI measures are accepted by key regulators and accreditors.

Accreditation & Compliance Strategy Setting:
Define and lead enterprise accreditation and compliance strategy aligned with business priorities, risk appetite, and operational efficiency.
Obtain, maintain, streamline, expand, or exit accreditations based on value, execution readiness, cost, and risk.
Establish consistent enterprise interpretations of accreditation requirements and ensure they are operationalized through processes.
Align accreditations and accrediting bodies with clear ownership supported by streamlined global processes and tools.
Enterprise Conformity Assessment Compliance, Oversight, and Integrity:
Ensure conformity assessment activities meet applicable standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025, 17065) through process‑embedded controls.
Maintain independence and objectivity in compliance decisions.
Embed impartiality risk mitigation into operational workflows.
Planning and executing internal and external audits for all credentials to manage risk and ensure compliance to all internal and external requirements
Oversee internal and external findings and corrective actions with focus on root cause and systemic improvement.
Accreditation Operations & Readiness:
Ensure accreditation readiness is predictable, consistent, and minimally disruptive.
Translate requirements into standardized operational expectations embedded in processes, training, and tools.
Drive consistent execution across regions and service lines.
External Accreditation & Oversight Engagement:
Act as ULS senior interface with accreditation bodies, regulators, scheme owners, and oversight organizations, including contract negotiations.
Strengthen ULS credibility through transparent, consistent, and professional engagement.
Manage accreditation portfolio with periodic review of business need, risk, and operational readiness.
Lead participation in standards, industry, and professional bodies influencing accreditation and conformity assessment requirements.
Ensure enterprise training on standards, scheme rules, and impartiality risks is aligned to operational reality.
Board and Company Relations:
Escalate significant accreditation and compliance risks and opportunities to senior leadership and ERM as appropriate
Support with business analytics on conformity assessment data, etc.
External Stakeholder Interaction:
ULS accreditors and regulators
International, regional and national codes, and conformity assessment standards
Trade, industry and professional associations e.g.g TIC Council, ILAC
Leadership and Organization
(5-7 of direct reports and reports to SVP Global Operations)
Lead a global Accreditation & Compliance function with clear accountability and enterprise authority.
Build enterprise capability to own quality and compliance through execution.
Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and right‑first‑time delivery.
Qualifications
10–15+ years in accreditation, conformity assessment, compliance, or assurance in global organizations.
Strong knowledge of international standards and their practical application.
Proven leadership in matrixed, international environments.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $190,000 to $253,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 30% of the base salary and a 30% RSU grant. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (20 days), holidays including 3 floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
