Position Summary
The Housekeeping & Laundry Aide is responsible for supporting a clean, sanitary, and well‑organized environment through flexible work assignments between housekeeping and commercial laundry operations. This role is critical to resident comfort, dignity, infection prevention, and ensuring all personal laundry and linens are properly cleaned, labeled, tracked, and returned without loss.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Housekeeping Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize resident apartments, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and service areas according to established schedules
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect all assigned areas using approved products
- Replenish paper goods, soap, and other housekeeping supplies
- Safely collect and dispose of trash and soiled materials
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns promptly
- Follow infection control, OSHA, and community safety protocols
Commercial Laundry Responsibilities
- Flex between housekeeping and laundry based on daily operational needs
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment safely and effectively
- Sort laundry by resident, fabric type, and washing requirements
- Fold bulk laundry items quickly and accurately while maintaining high attention to detail
- Ensure all resident clothing and linens are clearly labeled and tracked to prevent loss
- Deliver laundered items directly to resident apartments or designated storage areas
- Maintain organized linen rooms and laundry workspaces
- Monitor laundry supplies and report inventory needs
- Immediately report missing, damaged, or mislabeled items
Quality & Accuracy Expectations
- Attention to detail is paramount to ensure resident belongings are returned correctly
- Accountability for assigned laundry loads and delivery routes
- Compliance with privacy, dignity, and confidentiality standards
- Consistent verification that resident laundry items are correctly labeled before processing
