Job Description

The world’s leading organizations and global players choose Proskauer to represent them when they need it the most. With 800+ lawyers in key financial centers around the world, we are known for our pragmatic and business-savvy approach.

Proskauer is the place to turn when a matter is complex, innovative and game-changing. We work seamlessly across practices, industries and jurisdictions with asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, Fortune 500 and FTSE companies, major sports leagues, entertainment industry legends and other industry-redefining companies.

The Senior Internal Events Manager leads the planning and execution of the firm’s internal event portfolio, including flagship experiences such as the annual partner retreat and holiday party, as well as practice group gatherings, the summer associate events program, and leadership summits. The ideal candidate is a seasoned planner who can produce a complex event end-to-end while thinking strategically about how internal events support firm culture and attorney engagement.

Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead production of flagship internal events (partner retreat, holiday party, leadership summits) from site selection through post-event analysis.
  • Plan and execute mid-tier events (practice group gatherings, summer associate programming, team experiences) from concept through completion.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and venue selection with deep knowledge of the New York venue landscape.
  • Develop project plans with timelines, budgets, stakeholder communications, and contingency protocols.
  • Own the internal events budget: forecasting, tracking, and post-event variance reporting.

Strategic Advisory

  • Evaluate incoming requests against firm priorities; advise stakeholders on approach, timing, and resource implications.
  • Use post-event data and attendee feedback to inform future planning and demonstrate program impact.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize processes and establish best practices across offices.

Team Management

  • Supervise and develop the Internal Events team, providing regular feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Manage team workload and delegate based on capacity and event complexity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Business Development, Creative Services, and Marketing Technology to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Serve as the internal events point of contact for firm leadership across all organizational levels.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of event planning experience, preferably in professional services, hospitality, or high-end corporate environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale, executive-level events with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising staff through complex, high-pressure deliverables.
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent events.
  • Professional presence with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Deep familiarity with New York City venues.
  • Flexibility for extended hours and domestic travel for off-site events.

Preferred

  • Experience with event registration platforms and project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Vuture, InterAction, or comparable CRM and email deployment platforms.
  • Experience using data and reporting to measure event effectiveness and inform strategy.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to reprioritize quickly in a fast-moving environment.

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $175,000-$210,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
