About the Department
The Site Supervisor guides all Summer Camp operations to include: staff training, compliance of policies and procedures, camper registration, public relations, scheduling of staff, field trips, guest speakers and activity development. Works in conjunction with the Facility Coordinator with all things related to summer camp
This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing
Position Duties
Education / higher education: High School Graduate or equivalent
Minimum number of years of directly related experience: At least 18 years of age with 4 months of teaching, coaching, or camp experience.
Education and/or experience preferences: Experience in public relations and customer service.
Driver’s License requirement: Frequent Driver -- Regular Driver's License Required Endorsements: None
Note -- For any driver, driving record must always meet City driving and insurability standards.
Required certifications, licenses or registrations: Current First Aid and CPR certification
Time given after hire/promotion to obtain certification or licenses: if not in possession of above certifications, must obtain when Department offers classes prior to the opening of Summer Camp.
Preferred certifications, licenses or registrations: None
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge: Must have excellent public relations.
Skills: Verbal communication skills. Must be able to manage conflict and have problem solving skills.
Abilities: Available to work a flexible schedule as required. Be able to multi-task.
Interaction with Groups/Agencies/Entities: Internal: Works with other department supervisors and managers on routine assignments and special projects. Maintains harmonious, courteous, and understanding relationships, while fostering a collaborative teamwork environment. External: Works with contractors and the general public on parks and recreations issues and problems. Presents a friendly, courteous image for the City of the general public, customers, and public officials.

- Oversees and guides all Kamp Rio operations to include: staff hiring, staff training, compliance of policies and procedures, camper registration, public relations, scheduling and of staff, field trips, guest speakers and activity development.
- Supervises and directs staff and children in arts and crafts activities, field trips, free time, scheduled activities and games.
- Coordinates and cooperates with Aquatic personnel in the use of the swimming pools.
- Conducts all parent / guardian communications pertaining to Kamp Rio.
- Responsible for scheduling and monitoring and disciplining of staff.
- Responsible for verbal/written communications to parents concerning activities (i.e., field trips, guest speakers, and daily activities).
