Position Title: Level III Technician, Small Cell

Essential Functions:

The Level III Technician, Small Cell is to perform the installation of power and communication cable on new and existing utility and light poles throughout the United States. This position will work in and around bucket trucks.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Proficient-level ability to install radios, base station equipment, conduit, DC power wiring, AC Power and fiber optic cables
- Proficient-level ability to install and test low voltage DC power wiring and fiber optic cables
- Expert-level knowledge of print reading
- Proficient-level ability to take pre and post construction photos for construction closeout packages
- Connects and rearranges cable facilities associated with aerial, buried, underground and in buildings according to engineering design by utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment
- Proficient- level ability to install base station equipment and fiber jumpers in network hub buildings
- Proficient-level ability to utilize an OTDR to test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable
- Ability to perform work at heights of 50ft tall or less on utility poles
- Ability to safely operate a bucket truck, install and test cellular RF cabling and antennas
- Ability to perform PIM, sweep, fiber, and antenna alignment testing on site set rets and program equipment as needed
- Independently sets up and shuts down utility construction projects including traffic control in various conditions including highways, side streets, parking lots, downtown locations, etc.
- Safety is the expectation, always follows the required safety practices while performing safety sensitive duties
- Performs other position duties when requested

- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- Ability to climb and work up to 500+ft and lift over 50 lbs.
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of Two ( 2+) years’ experience with small cell or aerial operations required
- OSHA 30 Certification Required
- Experience operating a bucket truck is preferred
- Pim and Sweep Testing preferred
- Fiber power meter and OTDR testing preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver License.
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc.
- When working on site, will be required to wear common protective safety equipment.
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
- Must endure regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, cold, humidity and rain.
