Job Description

We’re seeking a dynamic People Development Onboarding Specialist to create impactful and engaging new employee experiences. In this role, you’ll partner closely with leaders, team members, and stakeholders to design and deliver seamless onboarding programs that set employees up for success. You’ll drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and elevate the onboarding journey. A passion for learning is key, as you’ll bring fresh ideas and best practices to evolve our New Employee Orientation program and ensure a high-quality, transformative experience for every new hire.

Responsibilities

Talent Transition Support

  • Creates a welcoming first impression of St. Peter’s Health by anticipating needs, guiding candidates to the right resources, and following up on pre-employment inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Partners closely with the recruiting team and onboarding coordinator to ensure a seamless transition of new hires into the New Employee Orientation (NEO) process.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail by proactively sharing information, documentation, and next steps during the pre-employment phase.
  • Welcomes new hires with timely, clear, and supportive communication to ensure a smooth start.

 

New Employee Orientation / Onboarding

  • Prioritizes meaningful, responsive communication to help new hires feel welcomed, valued, and supported from day one.
  • Coordinates schedules and logistics across multiple departments to successfully deliver NEO events.
  • Provides clear guidance and manages role-specific onboarding requirements to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Accurately collects, tracks, and maintains onboarding documentation across multiple systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle HRIS).
  • Facilitates engaging and informative NEO sessions, both in person and virtually, creating a positive and memorable experience.
  • Maintains proactive communication with department leaders, ensuring visibility into new hire progress and timely response to needs

 

Learning & Development

  • Contributes ideas and feedback to enhance onboarding communications, learning materials, and resource tools.
  • Connects leaders and employees with learning opportunities and resources that support growth and development.

     

Other

  • Participates in cross-functional initiatives and teams to drive effective, organization-wide outcomes.
  • Continuously builds expertise by staying current with industry trends and best practices in onboarding and people development.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Two or more years’ experience in face-paced office setting preferred. Two or more years’ experience working with educational processes or human resources processes preferred.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.
