Receiving Clerk

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm, with 30-minute lunch are core hours
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receiving Clerk helps keep the flow of material, merchandise, and packages moving throughout the facility. Will pack and unpack merchandise, perform clerical tasks, and keep records of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
- Perform incoming inspection on items flagged for inspection using ISO documents and part comments.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
- Move received units into inventory, make location to location and/or GL inventory moves as necessary.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom and warehouse workers.
- Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.
- Drive forklift trucks in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
- Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or partners, based on information from incoming requisition.
- Prepare products, supplies, equipment, or other items for use by adjusting, repairing or assembling them as necessary.
