Position Overview

At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the FP&A Intern supports the finance team in analyzing financial data, assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing insights that help guide business decisions.

 

This role offers hands-on exposure to financial planning and analysis, finance operations, and cross-functional collaboration with various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis Support
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Analyze financial performance by comparing actual results to forecasts and prior periods
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, risks, or areas of concern
 
Reporting & Insights
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for senior management
  • Gather and organize data from multiple sources to support business decision-making
 
Data, Tools & Process Improvement
  • Build and maintain spreadsheets and dashboards to track key performance metrics
  • Assist with ongoing process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
 
Additional Responsibilities & Miscellaneous
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the FP&A department and corporate objectives
 
 
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (pivot tables, formulas; financial modeling is a plus)
  • Basic understanding of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new concepts in a fast-paced environment

Compensation
The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, and work location within state. This is a part-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
  • Base: $20.00 - 25.00 per hour
