Job Summary:  Job Class 005



 



Performs duties to promptly troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.  Receives assignments from Maintenance Supervisor or, in his absence, the Plant Engineer or Shift Supervisor.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  




  • Remove, repair, install, and adjust all types of parts on plant machinery so equipment functions properly.

  • Examine machine problems and promptly advise Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Engineer, or Shift Supervisor of findings.

  • Manufacture simple parts as necessary to repair existing machinery and install new machinery.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Install and repair plumbing.

  • Direct and instruct Maintenance Repairman “B”.

  • Performs duties and responsibilities with a minimum of supervision.

  • Work overtime as needed.

  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and procedures on equipment.

  • Receive and store tools and spare parts.

  • Maintain Parts Crib in a clean and orderly condition.

  • Use large variety of hand tools and power tools.

  • Communicates with employees of other shifts regarding status of operations, equipment, repairs, tooling, etc.

  • Conduct work in a safe, orderly, and clean manner.

  • Assumes various other duties at the direction of the shift supervisor.
