Maintenance Mechanic III
Experience Required: 5+ years in maintenance with leadership experience.
Certifications: Advanced PLC certification, leadership training.
Maintenance Mechanic III is a senior-level role responsible for leading complex troubleshooting, overseeing major repairs and installations, and mentoring junior mechanics. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. Mechanic III acts as a technical leader and may serve as a shift lead for the maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair high-level mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
- Lead equipment rebuilds and major overhauls
- Perform diagnostics on PLC systems and recommend/control adjustments
- Assist with capital projects, equipment commissioning, and layout planning
- Maintain CMMS records and review performance metrics to drive improvements
- Mentor and train Mechanic I & II technicians; conduct hands-on demos and evaluations
- Review SOPs, participate in process improvement and lean initiatives
- Interface with vendors and OEM technicians during installations or warranty work
- Promote and model safe work practices; lead incident investigations if needed
- Participate in on-the-job training and technical coursework is required.
