Who we are and what we do:
The Tennessee Attorney General and Reporter represents all State executives, officials, departments, boards, agencies, and commissions in matters arising from their public duties. Such representation includes participation in litigation, transactional matters, and giving day-to-day legal advice to a wide variety of State entities. The Attorney General's Office employs approximately 200 attorneys organized into 22 regular divisions within 5 sections.

The Tennessee Attorney Generals Office has an immediate opportunity for a Network / Systems Administrator fluent in Networking to join our team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organizations core network, computer, and security infrastructure. This role focuses heavily on Cisco UCS server systems, enterprise storage arrays, Palo Alto firewalls/VPN technologies, Cisco switching platforms and VMWare vSphere virtualization platform. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, strong security posture, and optimal performance across all networked environments.

Cisco UCS & Server Infrastructure
Administer and maintain Cisco UCS environments, including service profiles, firmware, blade chassis, and fabric interconnects
Monitor UCS performance and capacity; plan and execute upgrades and expansions
Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and virtualization integration issues
Storage Array Administration
Manage enterprise storage arrays (Pure Storage Flash Arrays)
Perform storage provisioning, volume management, replication, snapshots, and backup integration
Monitor storage health, capacity, performance, and forecast future needs for vSphere data stores as well as file services volumes
Support SAN/NAS environments and fabric zoning as needed
Palo Alto Firewalls & VPN
Configure, manage, and optimize Palo Alto next generation firewalls
Maintain GlobalProtect VPN environments, authentication, and security policies
Monitor threat logs, security alerts, and respond to incidents
Implement firewall rules, NAT policies, and security profiles following best practices
Key Responsibilities:
Cisco Switches & Network
Infrastructure
Administer Cisco Nexus switches, VLANs, routing, and STP architecture
Troubleshoot network issues across LAN/WAN environments
Implement QoS, port security, and network segmentation strategies
Monitor network performance and perform lifecycle hardware/IOS upgrades
General Network Operations
Maintain network documentation including diagrams, IP schemas, device inventories, and SOPs
Monitor infrastructure via centralized monitoring tools; respond to alerts and outages
Participate in DR planning, testing, and high availability design initiatives
Collaborate with security, server, and application teams to support enterprise services
Minimum Qualifications:
Required Experience:
3-5+ years of hands on network/system administration experience
Strong experience with Cisco UCS server infrastructure
Proven experience administering storage arrays (SAN/NAS)
Deep knowledge of firewalls and VPN technologies
Strong proficiency with Cisco networking (switching, routing, VLANs, ACLs)
Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper-V preferred)
Understanding of network security principles, best practices, and compliance
Preferred Experience:
3+ years of Pure Storage experience
3+ years of Palo Alto
5+ years of VMware vSphere administration in an Enterprise environment.
3+ years of Cisco UCS administration
3+ years of configuring Cisco Nexus and MDS switches
Experience managing a Hyper-V Environment
Experience supporting over ~300 users
Preferred Education and Certification: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's or Associate degree in Information Technology or Information Systems with 4 years of experience.
OR
1 year of experience can substitute for a year of education on a year-to-year basis plus an additional 4 years of Enterprise experience.
