Position: Product Owner
Role: Senior Consultant
Location: Richardson, TX


The Role

The Product Owner will lead the definition and delivery of product capabilities within the Risk and Controls domain, with a strong focus on Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and monitoring and testing platforms. The role requires hands-on experience working in Agile environments, partnering closely with business, risk, compliance, and technology teams to translate control and regulatory requirements into scalable, well-designed product solutions.

This role operates across multiple Scrum teams, requiring strong dependency management, early identification of risks, and effective coordination across platforms and stakeholders. Experience with AI-enabled capabilities is a strong plus, though not a mandatory requirement.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Own the product / value stream vision which will be the north star for driving strategic outcomes for the Scrum Team(s) supported.
  • Own and manage the product backlog for risk and control capabilities
  • Inspire the team to deliver upon the goals.
  • Lead the product functional design process and story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and prioritization activities.
  • Work in an agile environment by continuously reviewing the business needs, refining priorities, outlining milestones and deliverables, and identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Create features and functionalities which enable achieving business goals by collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Create and own the product backlog prioritizing features which enable maximizing the business value.
  • Facilitate backlog decomposition sessions with the technology teams to clearly define requirements from a user perspective, inclusive of acceptance criteria breaking down large stories for the team to consume in one sprint.
  • Partner with the technology team to break down large stories based on estimation.
  • Participate in the testing /review sessions and provide support for release.
  • Accept work completed by the team prior to release to production.
  • Identify and manage cross-team and cross-platform dependencies early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Proactively highlight delivery risks, data dependencies, and integration challenges, and work with stakeholders to drive timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and target-state platforms.
  • Track and report product performance post-launch to evaluate / request future investment.
  • Create strong feedback loops by leading the agile events seeking continuous feedback from stakeholders and incorporate in the backlog to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Develop the culture of using OKRs to ensure team members align on the purpose of the work and cascade feedback related to risk and dependencies.
  • Participate in Scrum events representing the Product, and alignment with the Product Manager vision.
  • Communicate priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery status clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Support informed decision-making by articulating trade-offs and impacts across teams and timelines.

 Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with customer centric mindset to focus on client needs.
  • 7–10 years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or related roles in Agile environments in Technology Risk and control domain
  • Strong hands-on experience with user story writing, story mapping, backlog management, and Scrum ceremonies.
  • Solid understanding of Risk & Controls frameworks, including RCSA.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize the items that maximize business value while receiving requests from multiple stakeholders at the same times.
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and team members to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • In depth analytical skills with the ability to synthesize findings.
  • Successful track record of developing products within deadlines and commitments.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating collaborative sessions, managing customer expectations, and ensuring work is aligned with the enterprise goals and objectives.
  • Expertise with agile tools suites including Atlassian, MS Teams or similar agile management tooling.
  • Experience with agile testing and technical engineering techniques (TDD, BDD) tools a plus. 
  • Advanced Product Owner certifications.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics in a product or platform context (hands-on experience preferred but not mandatory).
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Contribute to initiatives involving AI-enabled or data-driven capabilities, such as intelligent monitoring, automation, or insights generation.
  • Partner with data, engineering, and platform teams to support integration of AI capabilities into risk and control platforms.
  • Ensure solutions align with risk, governance, and explainability expectations.


Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience of leading programs where stakeholder engagement is a key requisite to achieving successful program/project delivery
  • Proven ability to deliver under tight deadlines and challenging constraints
  • Ability to collaborate within the firm and leverage existing resources
  • Demonstrate thought leadership, ability to conceptualize and drive new solution / service offerings and take them to market
Ability and willingness to work as part of a cross-cultural team including flexibility to support multiple time zones when necessary

The Target Annual Compensation Range for this Role is  $116,875 to 148,125
