Gleeds in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has an exciting opportunity, supporting a number iconic programs across the Kingdom. We are seeking an MRICS qualified Quantity Surveying leader with a passion for pre contract services, who want to develop their career in a personable and professional environment.
The Executive MEP Quantity Surveyor is responsible for a team of MEP Quantity Surveyors, managing all pre contract cost-related aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems within construction projects.
This role is based in our office in Bangalore, India.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing a team of MEP Quantity Surveyors
- Delivering pre contract cost management services from concept design through detailed design
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and cost plans for MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems
Develop system-based budgets and lifecycle cost analyses- Managing commission to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the Gleeds procedures.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from MEP drawings, specifications, and schematics
Prepare and manage MEP Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Measure complex components such as ductwork, pipework, cable containment, and equipment- Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
- 15+ years post graduate experience in all aspects of MEP quantity surveying
- 3+ years’ experience in Saudi Arabia
- 3+ years’ experience with a consultancy organization
- Proven experience in MEP quantity surveying within KSA construction projects
Strong understanding of MEP systems, materials, and installation methods- Experience of building projects and major mixed use developments
- Sound knowledge and practical experience of pre contract cost management.
- Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
- Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field
- MRICS or equivalent chartered status
- Fluent English level written and oral skills
