Position Summary: The Summer Youth Enrichment Camp Leader creates and facilitates eight weeks of engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate theme-based enrichment camp experiences for children ages 3-7 years old.
Position Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with coursework, or completed training in early childhood programming preferred. Other requirements include successful work experience with children in target age groups and digital literacy proficiency. Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary to succeed in this position. Experience with community-based programming required. Position requires a current CPR and first aid certificate to be held or obtained within an agreed-upon timeframe of employment. Successful candidates must be available for all 8-weeks of programming, plus one week (June 8-11) of prep prior to the first camp and one day (August 7) following the close of the last camp.
Language Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in the English language using positive body language and tone of voice. Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
Physical Demands: Mobility and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Hearing, speech, and sight are required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Other Skills & Abilities: The Camp Leader must possess skills in building quality relationships with children and be able to maintain cooperative staff partnerships, display flexibility in day-to-day situations, and contribute to a positive team environment. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Provide parent communication as appropriate concerning program activities and child participation in daily activities. Perform duties with a structured daily schedule and with an awareness of program standard operating practices, district requirements, and Board of Education policies.
Schedule:
June 8 - August 7, 2026
26 Hours per week for 9 weeks, Monday through Thursday
8:30-3:30 Monday through Wednesday with 1-hour duty-free lunch; 8:30-5:30 on Thursdays for 8 weeks to complete classroom theme change, with 1-hour duty-free lunch
Camps that do not fill result in unpaid time off. Morning camps serve 3 and 4-year-olds. Afternoon camps serve 5 to 7-year-olds.
Pay Rate:
B-2-2 / $19.48-$23.35 per hour *Contingent on experience in early learning and community-based program settings.
