As a Medical Safety/Security Officer you are responsible for performing protective and enforcement functions in a courteous and restrained manner in coping with emergencies, undesired conduct, disturbances and threats to life and property. Also responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, visitors, and team members. Must be available weekends/holidays. As a Medical Safety/Security Officer, you will assist with all emergency medical services as necessary. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
The Medical Safety/Security Officer's typical job functions include:
- Foot/vehicle patrolling of resort grounds to ensure that areas are secure and free of unauthorized persons and disturbances
- Foot patrolling of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential safety and security risk or undesirable conditions
- Evaluating situations and making logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work
- Answering security telephone and responding in a timely manner
- Administering CPR
- Administering First Aid to all Team Members, Guests and all persons at Inn at Bay Harbor, Crooked Tree Golf Course and Bay Harbor Golf Course
- Checking ID of visitor/employees as necessary
- Accessing secured areas for authorized personnel
- Responding to emergency situations, including medical, security, guest complaints, etc
- Responding to altercations and investigating
- Checking for safety hazards
- Having knowledge of hotel and guest room locking systems
- Completing Incident/Accident reports in a clear and concise manner
- Conducting investigations relative to property losses, guest and employee accidents and illnesses, crimes against the resort
- Providing escorts to persons carrying money or other requests
- Using proper radio etiquette at all times
- Maintaining and reviewing daily activity log
- Maintaining confidentiality with respect to guest and employee incidents
This position may be for you if:
- You are at least 21 years of age
- You possess a valid driver's license
- You have cash handling experience
- You are available to work varying days and shifts, including weekends
- You have achieved a High School diploma or equivalent
- You are able to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- You are able to stand, walk for long periods at a time and lift minimum of 30lbs.
- You are able to climb and descend stairways and run
- Must have a State of Michigan MFR/EMT-B licensure
- You have/or able to obtain a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
