POSITION TITLE:  Food Service Lunch Clerk


 


FLSA:                      Non Exempt


              


QUALIFICATIONS:




  • Basic math and computer skills.




  • Ability to read and communicate in English.




  • Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis.




  • Move a minimum of 50 pounds .




 


REPORTS TO:  Cafeteria Manager and Director - Food Service


 


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  172 Day Contract


 


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:


 




  1. Set up cash register or computer daily for business.




  2. Collect money and tickets daily at serving time and make proper entries in cash register or computer for each transaction.




  3. Count cash drawer and verify receipts with daily tape or computer printout; correcting any inaccuracies.




  4. When using cash register, create daily cashier report.




  5. Assist in preparing bank deposit and be prepared to make deposit at bank if necessary




  6. Obtain and keep accurate and complete roster of every class in your building.




  7. At the beginning of each month, create a new roster page per classroom, carrying over any advance lunch sales and adding new ones.




  8. Scan each student's card and enter appropriate charges in computer against student's account.




  9. At the end of the day, total the free, reduced, full prices, full and reduced advance sales, adult meals, and a la carte money. Fill out the cashier's report properly.




  10. Assist in preparing the bank deposit and ensure that the deposit gets to the school office.




  11. Obtain and keep accurate and complete records of students, including students eligible for free and reduced price meals.




  12. Daily, enter money received from each student into his/her account.




  13. During meal purchases, scan each student's card and enter appropriate charges in computer against student's account.




  14. Run daily cashier report.




  15. Balance money received and fill out deposit slip.
