SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTIONS
The Regional Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse responsible for providing clinical oversight, regulatory guidance, and operational support across multiple skilled nursing or long-term care facilities within a designated region in Indiana.
This role partners with facility leadership (e.g., DONs, Administrators) to ensure high-quality resident care, compliance with CMS and Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) regulations, and strong clinical outcomes.

NON-ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Clinical Oversight & Support
Provide clinical leadership and consultation to Directors of Nursing and facility teams
Evaluate and improve resident care practices, care planning, and outcomes
Serve as a subject matter expert for:
Infection prevention
Wound care
Falls reduction
QAPI / Quality Assurance programs
· Ensure compliance with:
o CMS regulations
o IDOH state survey requirements
· Lead and support:
o Survey preparation
o Plan of Correction (POC) development
o Post-survey follow-up
· Conduct mock surveys, audits, and clinical reviews
· Monitor and analyze:
Quality measures (QMs)
Infection rates
Readmissions / hospitalizations
· Identify trends and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs)
· Drive consistency in clinical standards across multiple facilities
o Mentor and coach:
o DONs / ADONs
o Nurse managers
· Provide education on:
o Clinical best practices
o Regulatory updates
o Policy implementation
· Support leadership development and succession planning
· Collaborate with corporate clinical teams to:
Implement policies and initiatives
Standardize care delivery models
Act as a bridge between corporate leadership and facility teams
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· Travel to multiple facilities (typically 5–7 buildings) within Indiana
· Conduct routine site visits, audits, and on-site support
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
· 3+ years of experience in:
· Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC)
· Strong knowledge of:
o CMS regulations (F-tags, QMs, PBJ, etc.)
o State survey process
o Quality Measures
Preferred:
· Experience as:
o Director of Nursing (DON)
o Assistant DON
o Prior Regional Nurse Consultant
· BSN or MSN
· Experience with QAPI, infection control, and reimbursement systems (Medicare/Medicaid)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
