CONTRACT/SALARY:        Hourly, Up to 20-hour/week, as needed

STATUS:                            Non-Exempt
 
REPORTS TO:                    Director of Maintenance/Building Principal
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Assist and perform various custodial duties in the district. Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment for students and staff.
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Clean/maintain school facilities such as classrooms, restrooms, hallways, entrance doors, entryways, offices, floors, desks, chairs and walls.  This includes scrubbing, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting and waxing.


2. Replenishes supplies in restrooms and classrooms; changes light bulbs.


3. Orders janitorial supplies from maintenance office.


4. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks.


5. Empties trash receptacles.


6. Set up chairs/tables for meeting and other items as needed.


7. Assist in painting, cutting grass, making repairs, and insuring rooms are securely locked.


8. Report maintenance problems to building principal.


9. Perform other duties as assigned by building principal or director of maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:    

1. Ability to read and write.


2. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.


3. Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor.


4. Ability to perform daily tasks with minimum supervision.


5. Ability to work well with others.


6. Ability to effectively communicate and work well with students, staff and parents.


7. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.


8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.


9. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance.


10. Ability to have reliable transporation to and from work.


11. Must be at least 16 years of age or older and a student within the Fox C-6 School District.
