The Bartender is responsible for providing guests with a positive dining experience through excellent product knowledge, strong sales skills and a positive attitude. Responsible for all bar product, proper transacting, preparing and dispensing of beverages.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides excellent guest service according to expectations outlined in the training portal
- Carries out all tasks necessary to prepare the restaurant for service prior to pre-shift
- Has knowledge of cocktails, follows recipes and uses standard measurements.
- Uses suggestive selling/recommendation approach on the menu, applying thorough product knowledge
- Rings orders and performs all necessary additional functions in the POS system
- Checks identification of all guests under the age of 30
- Does NOT serve intoxicated guests and communicates about any and all impaired guests to MOD
- Maintains accurate financial records of the shift, including all discounts and comps
- Maintains clean and safe work area
- Completes daily and weekly side work responsibilities on a consistent and thorough basis
- Assists other team members as necessary
- Completes additional tasks as assigned by the management team
- Keeps management informed of any problems, complaints from guests or other team members
- Follows all company policies as outlined in company handbook
Accountabilities:
- Addresses all guests in a positive and professional way, promoting company standards in providing quality product and service
- Takes all actions with the guest’s best interest in mind, so as to continue to build new business and to avoid guest complaints
- Adheres to all Bartender expectations as defined in the training manual at 100%
Requirements
- Able to read, understand and speak English. Able to communicate clearly and concisely
- Has simple arithmetic skills
- Able to coordinate, organize and remember details
- Has hand manipulation skills, including power grasping (holding and carrying cases of beer/liquor), simple grasping (opening wine) and fine manipulation (operating computer)
- Able to stand for an eight-hour shift
- Able to climb stairs
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Able to reach above head and bend to put items on the floor or low shelves
- Able to work as part of a team for the benefit of the guest
- Able to work at a consistently fast pace in a loud environment
