Position Summary

  • Title: Theology Teacher
  • Department: Reports to Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction
  • Classification: Full time for 2026-2027 school year
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., plus scheduled events with required attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. 
  • Follow the faculty expectations outlined in St. Pius X Employee Handbook. 
  • Engage in spiritual formation programming. 
  • Serve as a student advisor.  
  • Moderate, direct, coach, or lead an organized student group, activity, or sport.  
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures. 
  • Be familiar and enforce Student Handbook policies. 
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust strategies. 
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities. 
  • Participate in department, school, and parent meetings. 
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs. 
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. 
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities. 
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests and assignments in a timely fashion and update systems accordingly. 
  • Communicate and partner with parents in a timely manner. 
  • Participate in student/faculty activities (such as retreats, advisory, faculty meetings, in-service) 
  • Follow school emergency procedures. 
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Department Chair, Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction, Principal, or President.
