Reporting to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations, you will lead the Quality Control function for our high-risk, critical medical devices. You’ll ensure the effective and efficient management of the Quality Control department to meet customer, quality and delivery expectations, while minimising costs and building employee wellbeing. Leading and supporting Supervisors, Team Leads and QC personnel who inspect and release medical devices, you’ll set clear priorities and drive performance management.
- Own QC inspection planning and scheduling to support production delivery.
- Set and deliver Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) goals and report progress.
- Ensure QC operations, product release and non-conformance control comply with QMS procedures and specifications.
- Lead, coach and develop supervisors/team leads and QC personnel; drive recruitment, training and cross-training plans.
- Lead tier meetings, metrics review, root cause investigations and corrective/preventative actions.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, QA and other functions to implement improvements and new procedures.
- Represent Quality Control during internal and external audits

- Tertiary qualification in engineering, science, medicine, manufacturing technology or similar (or equivalent experience).
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (regulated/medical device manufacturing highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and practical continuous improvement.
- Experience leading change and influencing stakeholders across functions.
- Working knowledge of GMP and/or ISO/FDA-aligned quality and compliance requirements.
- Clear communication, sound judgement, integrity and a team-first approach.
