Spend 6 weeks of your summer participating in generational resilience building
among communities of refugees and the economically impoverished in Atlanta.
This role serves alongside laborers pioneering a work that integrates discipleship and community development within households of a neighborhood of 100 people
groups. Responsibilities also include field research to assist leaders and laborers in addressing pain points with locally-made solutions. Applicants who value creation, care, justice, and poverty alleviation are encouraged.
Qualifications
Must be a high school graduate with proficiency in English. The local team values
ongoing spiritual formation and practices in its members and short-term
practitioners. A degree in community development, change management, social
entrepreneurship, or intercultural studies would be beneficial but not required.

This role will develop a holistic worldview in disciplemaking and value of God’s love for people pushed to the margins and facing vulnerabilities, and it will begin
applying this knowledge and attitude in the context of local partnership or
community mobilization as directed by the local Discipling for Development’s
strategic plan. Orientation includes reframing questions in an appreciative way with orality as the primary means of communication.
