Job Summary

The Credit Analyst will conduct credit investigations and analyze credit information pertaining to loans. This position evaluates the credit-worthiness of borrowers and determines the likelihood that a borrower will be able to meet financial obligations and pay back a loan by reviewing the borrower's financial history and projecting future income.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Investigates and reviews all available sources of credit and financial information for individuals and companies including, but not limited to, company audits, tax returns, and management prepared statements; individual tax returns and financial statements; and farm analysis statements
  • Interprets and enters financial information into software system
  • Researches and examines credit risks, evaluates customer credit reports
  • Analyzes financial information to predict patterns and trends, often projecting future income
  • Determines customer’s cash flow and risk profile according to Bank credit policy
  • Prepares spreads, creates cash flow spreadsheets, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit-worthiness
  • Assists lenders in gathering and interpreting financial information from customers, accountants, and bookkeepers
  • Scans work papers, maintains customer information files, and works log
  • Maintains knowledge of available financial and loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines
