Loyola Academy Additional Information: Show/Hide - The Associate Athletic Trainer will help with the execution of the sports medicine and athletic training department and initiatives that align diversity, equity and inclusion with the school's Catholic identity, mission, Ignatian Spirituality, and the school's commitments to celebrate, educate and advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion.
- A successful candidate should be able to provide skilled evaluations and provide recommended treatment options for athletes.
- Conduct athlete intake assessments and maintain medical records for all athletes.
- Work with the Coordinator of Athletic Training to coordinate and promote all aspects of the Sports Medicine and Athletic Training Department.
- Work with other members of the school staff to plan and put in place goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
- Attend preseason team meetings to communicate the sports medicine and athletic training department services for athletes.
- Manage the onsite game training staff to ensure that athletic contests and practices are appropriately staffed.
- Willingness and ability to travel to offsite locations as needed for competitions.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities, including protecting students from hazing/bullying.
- Communicate with parents/guardians, and physicians regarding treatment plans.
- Assist with supply orders for the sports medicine department and manage inventory.
- Collaborate with the coaches regarding player health and safety.
- Collaborate with school nurses, counselors, and administration in concussion management.
- Represent Loyola Academy and the athletic department in a professional manner.
- Maintain nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve performance.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate administrator.
- Communicate well with faculty, staff, students and community members.
- Consults with department heads, staff managers, and administrators to establish coordinated efforts to minimize workplace conflict; and develops resources and tools to aid Loyola Academy in fostering a culture of respect, collaboration and problem resolution.

- The position requires a bachelor's degree and a BOC certification and Illinois licensure for athletic training and two to three (2-3) plus years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Master's degree preferred.

POSITION: Associate Athletic Trainer

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Athletic Training and Vice President of Athletics and Fitness
The Associate Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting at all aspects of Sports Medicine including providing on site care during practices and games (including away athletic contests). The Associate Athletic Trainer assists the Coordinator of Athletic Training and provides support in all aspects of the sports medicine department to provide professional and progressive rehabilitation through personalized care that emphasizes athlete education and prevention of future injury. The Associate Athletic Trainer is required to abide by the IHSA rules and regulations as well as the rules and regulations set by the Athletic Administration and Board of Trustees.
