DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

The Sales team leads business opportunity evaluation, proposal development, and pricing strategy for complex aerospace and defense manufacturing programs.

The team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Contracts, and Finance to develop competitive proposals that are executable, compliant, and aligned with organizational capabilities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary pricing focal point for assigned proposals
  • Review proposal requirements with Program Management, Business Management, Engineering, Design, and Operations to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements
  • Validate Statements of Work, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure they are accurately reflected in proposals
  • Lead proposal preparation and estimating activities from kickoff through submission in partnership with Contracts
  • Facilitate proposal review processes and ensure internal reviews are conducted according to company policies and procedures
  • Partner with Contracts to develop briefing materials for internal proposal reviews
  • Review and approve final cost estimates, pricing models, and proposal packages prior to submission
  • Ensure technical proposal commitments are executable and aligned with organizational capabilities and capacity
  • Establish standards for cost buildup methodologies, estimating assumptions, and pricing templates
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA), and Janicki policies governing proposal preparation, submission, and negotiations
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on proposal status, risks, customer trends, and opportunity forecasts
  • Maintain accurate documentation of proposals, pricing decisions, and customer communications
  •  Support opportunity evaluation and positioning for new business pursuits

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, contracts, program management, estimating, or proposal management within aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience leading proposal teams and managing high-value bids
  • Strong understanding of cost estimating, pricing strategy, and risk assessment
  • Experience supporting projects from bid through delivery
  • Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and engineering terminology
  • Experience negotiating contracts and working with legal teams
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills for proposal development and pricing analysis
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations applicants must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a)(3)
  • This position may require the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements may require participation in a Continuous Evaluation program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Experience leading proposal efforts for aerospace or defense manufacturing programs
  • Experience working with FAR, DFARS, and Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) requirements

 

DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION

  • Wage range for this role is between $145,000 – $174,000 plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits
  • Employees may also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay
  • The range provided represents Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role The actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors including experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
