Job Description

FLSA Status: Hourly, non-exempt 

Supervisory: No 

Team: Manufacturing 

Reports to: Production Supervisor 

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM (Hours subject to change to 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM)

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in providing directions to team members
  • Assist in coordinating tasks to assure maximum productivity, align labor needs, and set priorities to meet production & customer demand
  • Assist in interviews and selection to support staffing plans
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new employees in job tasks and general skills to Ag Leader quality standards
  • Field team member questions and problem solve as issues arise
  • Follow quality control, Kanban and 5s procedures
  • Inspect finished product for acceptable quality and errors, identify non-conforming material and log appropriately. Determine cause of non-conforming material
  • Identify product test failures, assign DMRs where needed
  • Participate in team discussions, especially in regard to department goals, productivity and areas of improvement
  • Efficiently keep the department supplied with orders and jobs to meet demand, schedule on-demand when necessary
  • Complete minor repairs on-demand within the department
  • Communicate to supervisor and engineering any equipment or machinery in need of repairs
  • Help maintain accurate training records which support our QMS and ISO 9001 certification
  • Follow proper procedures for using Epicor, Machine Down, Gold Standard, Order Tracker, Production Loader and Job Manager
  • Maintain accurate copies of work instructions for department
  • Assist with new product introductions, be the first point of contact for feedback on what it will look like from an operator’s perspective, forecast issues and identify efficiencies 
  • Communicate, cross-train and problem solve with other departments/shifts
  • Where applicable, perform annual re-certification training for all operators
  • Ensure shift/department has CPR first-aid certified personnel
  • Arm the building at the end of the shift


Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous knowledge of Ag Leader production process is desired
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to utilize computers to perform daily tasks
  • Proven ability to handle work environment pressure(s) 
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Capable of communicating appropriately and effectively, specifically while leading a team and providing direction
  • Flexibility to stay late as necessary
  • Must be able to sit/stand for up to 8 hours with scheduled breaks
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds; greater than 25 pounds with team assist
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week plus overtime as needed
