Intramural Sports and Camp Graduate Assistant

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Intramural Sports & Summer Camp Graduate Assistant is responsible to assist with leading and managing the daily operation of a comprehensive collegiate level intramural sports program.  During non-academic sessions, the Intramural Sports & Summer Camp Graduate Assistant is responsible to lead and manage the daily operation of Titan Youth Sports Camp.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in developing and implement procedures and recommend policies that will ensure the effective day to day operation of the intramural sports program and Titan Youth Sports Camp.
  • Develop comprehensive intramural league, tournament, and special event schedule
  • Develop comprehensive summer youth program schedule
  • Analyze and establish proper staffing levels to meet program expectations
  • Schedule staff for maximum participant safety in accordance with established service standards
  • Assist in collaborating with Business Services Manager for facility reservations associated with program needs
  • Collaborate with Associate Director to develop marketing campaign for programs and services
  • Collaborate with Associate Director to develop assessment tools
  • Coordinate evening program and service supervision with program leads
  • Deliver the highest standards of safety, security, building appearance and customer service
  • Communicate evening activities, concerns, issues with all staff  
  • Assist in collecting, monitoring, and analyzing program use information to identify trends
  • Report data, trends, and recommendations to Associate Director
  • Verification of participant eligibility
  • Collection and maintenance of required forms: rosters, emergency medical, release of liability, accident/injury
  • Collaborate with Athletic Training Department to provide additional/appropriate staffing
  • Document all training and certifications
  • Serve on Student Recreation Center Safety and Emergency  Team
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate Intramural and Camp Student Staff
  • Train staff on all safety and risk management procedures and requirements
  • Train staff on excellent customer service expectations
  • Conduct officiating clinics/training for each sport
  • Assist in conducting monthly safety training meetings
  • Prepare and process all personnel and payroll documentation and maintain accurate records of all employee data; process payroll vouchers, including student assistants, work-study, event staff, and instructors; maintain up to date work-study funding balance
  • Evaluate and provide constructive/developmental feedback to student staff
  • Provide appropriate staffing level during program hours and special events

Customer Service & Collaboration:

  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments

Safety:

  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately

Requirements:

Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing

Work Environment:

  • This position requires standing for long periods of time as shifts are approximately 4-6 hours long
  • The work environment is generally favorable
