Come join the Stormwater Engineering Center for an exciting opportunity to be part of the team delivering the Flood Protection Program for the City of Virginia Beach. The position may be classified as an Engineer I, Engineer II or Engineer III depending on qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.

The selected candidate will work in the Stormwater Technical Services section of the Stormwater Engineering Center in the Department of Public Works. The individual will perform a variety of duties of a complex nature related to stormwater civil engineering projects. Representative work duties include but are not limited to:

  • Project management for the City's Stormwater Master Plan Update
  • Stormwater modeling and studies
  • Review of complex drainage plans or studies
  • Contract Management
  • Manage design and construction of Flood Protection Projects

     

In addition to the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate for this positions will have experience listed in the preference below. Candidates with the preferred experience should ensure the information is provided in the application.
