Clinic Supervisor - Dental:
The Clinic Supervisor - Dental manages the day-to-day operations of the dental office. This role supervises support staff and works closely with the Clinic Manager to ensure smooth workflows, consistent use of policies and procedures, and a positive experience for patients.
Position Summary:
With a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach, The Clinic Supervisor - Dental will:
- Assigns tasks and provides daily on-site supervision, guidance, and interpretation of established office procedures.
- Ensures all patients are greeted warmly and assisted promptly and professionally.
- Oversees patient triage; obtains and records medical/dental histories and vital signs as needed.
- Assists dentists during procedures and provides backup support to clinical staff when necessary.
- Verifies insurance coverage, obtains copies of insurance cards, and ensures accurate records for billing purposes.
- Collects co-pays and other payments, counsels' patients regarding account balances.
- Participates in Quality Improvement (QI) and Risk Management initiatives; addresses and documents patient concerns following CQI protocols.
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient records at all times.
- Monitors patient flow and wait times to improve overall service delivery.
- Coordinates with the enrollment and back-office teams to optimize patient flow and experience.
- Collaborates with the Clinic Manager to maintain compliance with clinical and operational policies and procedures.
- Reviews and monitors utilization reports to ensure accountability and improve patient access.
- Ensures effective provider and support staff scheduling to optimize resources and meet patient demand.
- Ensures patient needs are being appropriately addressed through scheduling and triage.
- Participates in collaborative measures.
- Follows and initiates policy for standing orders.
- Participates in planning and follow through on CQI measures.
- Oversees dental supplies inventory and ordering.
- Maintains staff levels per FTE guidelines.
- Assists with onboarding, training, and skill assessments for new and existing employees.
- Collaborates with the Clinic Manager to conduct timely and objective staff performance evaluations.
- Fosters a team culture focused on achieving departmental and organizational goals; regularly recognizes and celebrates team achievements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Associates Degree in Medical Staff Services Management preferred.
- Dental Assistant training, and/or 2-4 years related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Community Health Care experience preferred.
