Job Description

Pay range for this position is $26.76 - $27.85 per hour.

 

This is an entry level position to work in the Carpenter Trade.  Applicants may be assigned any C02 tasks, including but (not limited to):  Working with wood, aluminum, steel, or herculite to fabricate saw horses, ladders, steps, shipping containers, protective covers, and other items; shoring, jacking, and leveling of ship sections; installing fabricated furniture items and joiner doors on ships; installing temporary wooden decking panels; line handling to support ship float-off, sea trials, and inclining evolutions. 

Preferred - High School Diploma or GED
Preferred - Wood shop in Trade/Technical school

Required - the ability to read a measuring tape.
Required - basic math skills.
Required - the ability to work with hand tools as well as power tools, band saws, table saws, planers, and lathes.
Required - the ability to climb stairs and ladders and work on staging or in a condo lift.
Preferred - experience reading blueprints. 
 
Must be able to meet the requirements of the Physical Task Analysis.
