Assistant Treasurer



Position Summary



The Assistant Treasurer plays a key role in managing Farmer Companies’ capital structure, liquidity, banking relationships, and financial risk. This position supports financing activities, cash flow forecasting, treasury reporting, and internal controls while partnering closely with Accounting, Tax, Legal, IT, and business leaders. The role is well-suited for a hands-on treasury professional in a privately held organization focused on operational rigor, financial flexibility, and long-term value creation.



 



 



Key Responsibilities



Capital Markets & Financing




  • Support execution of financing strategies, including debt issuance, refinancing, and liability management.

  • Monitor capital structure and evaluate opportunities to optimize cost of capital in alignment with company strategy.

  • Maintain strong relationships with banks and other financing partners; prepare materials for lender meetings and periodic updates.

  • Assist with evaluating, negotiating, and administering credit facilities, loan agreements, and covenant compliance.



 



Cash Flow Forecasting & Liquidity Management




  • Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of short-, medium- and long-term cash flow forecasts.

  • Partner with business units to gather inputs and model cash requirements under multiple scenarios.

  • Monitor daily cash positions and funding requirements to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs.

  • Support working capital optimization initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance free cash flow.



 



Bank Administration & Coordination




  • Process domestic and international wire transfers in a timely and controlled manner.

  • Manage daily bank activity, including monitoring balances and transactions across accounts.

  • Execute cash transfers to support liquidity management and funding needs.



 



Risk & Investment Management




  • Assist with interest rate and commodity risk management strategies, as applicable.

  • Oversee investment of excess cash in accordance with approved investment policies and risk parameters.

  • Monitor market trends and economic developments that may impact borrowing costs, liquidity, or financial risk exposures.



 



Reporting & Analysis




  • Prepare treasury, liquidity, and capital structure reporting for senior leadership and ownership.

  • Provide analytical support for acquisitions, joint ventures, capital projects, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Benchmark the company’s leverage, liquidity, and capital structure metrics against peers and industry norms.

  • Ensure all debt and treasury activity is recorded accurately and completely each month.

  • Partner with Accounting to ensure treasury and debt balances are reflected accurately in financial statements.

  • Support financial audits, lender reviews, and other engagements as requested by Accounting.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to communicate key financial and treasury metrics to management.



 



Compliance & Controls




  • Ensure compliance with treasury policies, debt covenants, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over treasury and cash management activities.

  • Support internal and external audit activities related to treasury operations.



 



Business Partnership & Collaboration




  • Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Legal, IT, and business leaders to align treasury activities with company goals.

  • Provide training and guidance to business partners on treasury processes and cash management practices.

  • Implement and document treasury processes and controls to ensure consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness.

  • Lead or support treasury-related system implementations and enhancements.

  • Partner with IT to automate and improve treasury processes, reporting, and controls.
