The Director of Programming & Activities leads the design and delivery of a fully person- centered engagement program for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This is not a traditional activities role— it requires a clinical understanding of cognitive decline, an unwavering commitment to dignity and quality of life, and the creativity to meet each resident exactly where they are, every single day. The Director serves as a champion for meaningful living within the memory care neighborhood, ensuring that every resident — regardless of stage or ability — experiences joy,connection, purpose, and a sense of self.

Primary Responsibilities
The Memory Care Director is responsible for developing and executing the day-to-day programming of the neighborhood. This position will be responsible for maintaining an organized daily program while working with residents to create an exceptional activity experience.
Thisis a salaried position that will require working Tuesday through Saturdayweekly, with some flexible hours as needed and participating in a manager onduty rotation.
- Serve as an energetic leader who builds positive morale and an excellent culture in
- keeping with company values.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the programming of the department in compliance with all
- applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines.
- Assure activities are effectively planned and executed in a functional schedule in an
- appropriate manner.
- Communicate recommendations to the executive director and director of health services
- as necessary concerning the programming of the memory care neighborhood.
- Maintain an active fall prevention and hydration program.
- Actively communicate changes in care, change in condition, and celebrations of life with family members, residents, physicians, and other 3rd party partners.
- Develop methods for coordination of the memory care department’s services with other
- Resident Services, to ensure the continuity of the residents’ total regimen of care.
- Develop, present, and attend in-service meetings.
- Complete and adhere to all other tasks and responsibilities set by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- At least 5 years experience in Senior Living and Memory Care.
- Ability to read and write in English (Spanish helpful but not required)
- Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Experience leading teams
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suites
- Medication administration certification specific to the state
